Historical Society of Ma'aleca'andra

There are very few creatures that live on both Ma’aleca’andra, and our nearest neighbor, Earth- one of them is the flatworm.
There is one noticeable difference- Ma’alecan flatworms have evolved to fly through the air in the pictured undulating motion, as there is not nearly enough water to engender swimming.

Racers are smallest of the three breeds of wingless lizard native to Ma’aleca’andra, standing on average at approximately fifteen centimeters, measured from the superior spinal arch.
Lacking the thick, protective armor of its cousins, it relies on its speed, agility, and highly toxic bite to protect itself. Newborns are hatched with transparent skin and muscular tissue, and translucent bones- it’s coloring is based on the first food it consumes, gaining different tones based on the pigmentation of the food. The Racer pictured here probably ate a b’artio as a first meal, as indicated by it’s phosphorescent orange spotting. (For those who don’t know, b’artio, also known as Hronmeer’s Tears, are a berry that emits a low amount of heat when ripe, and, when fermented, bursts into flames when in contact with an oxidant.)
There is a thriving market in Racers as pets, as they are relatively small, eat most foodsources, and are rather docile if hatched from egg and raised with Ma’ale’cans.

Do not attempt to pick up or touch a wild Racer. They will bite the shit out of you, and you will get an ugly scar, and it will burn like ice and then it will feel as if knives have been driven into the places where the teeth bit into you, and then it will burn for three days.
DON’T FUCKING DO IT.
